interview

interview with eyrdonigh

We look up at the stars and think they are pretty to look at and not much else. Sometimes we forget about them because honestly we've seen them before. Now a falling star is a whole other kettle of fish...that is something to look at. Enter Eyrdonigh, the star that started it all.

How old are you?
I'm 300 years old but in star years that's practically a child. I'd like to think of myself as more than a "youngling" but it's hard to say that with any authority when those around you are pushing 3,000 years old.

Do you have any siblings?
No, although because of the nature of what we are I consider a lot of stars my sisters.

The debacle of 2009. Does it still haunt you?
Ahh your taking about my almost supernova incident. I...hmm...I still have a hard time talking about it actually. Realizing that your emotions are starting to overwhelm you to the point that you feel something inside might shatter is always a tough.

Why are you so intrigued by Earth?
Did the elders put you up to this? Never mind. Everyone thinks that being a star in the night sky is some kind of glorious and wonderful thing. That you should be ever so happy being strung up against the nightscape like a Christmas light but I have begun to want something more.

Look at the humans. Opportunities stretch forth for them endlessly. They shape their own fate. Being a star is to be trapped by the cycles of the sun and ancient tradition. Could we talk about something else...

What are your favorite kind of mittens?
(laughing) Well that is a real turn around. I would have to say the pink fluffy ones but as you know I don't have hands so this is an answer based on aesthetic appeal.

If you were an element, what element would you be and why?
Um I guess I would be water. I'm not sure why...
